Reports, Features and Catalogue Productions on Five Continents
“Alaska, Canada & the US by Mountainbike” read the headline of my first slideshow after an adventurous bike trip in the early 90s. Of course, with my beloved camera on board. During my semester break at college, I pedaled from Anchorage northbound to the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay, entirely on my own. Subsequently, the way to San Francisco and the desired warmer climes led through capricious sub-arctic weather conditions and the silent Canadian Northwest Territories. After a journey of more than 3000 miles, it was clear that although my studies were fun, my fulfillment would lie beyond academia – and in the pursuit of becoming a photojournalist.
After completing my studies of Anthropology, English Literature and Psychology at LMU Munich and the University College London, I started in the field as an aide for renowned studio photographers in Munich and London. An avid mountainbiker, mountaineer and winter sportsman, studio photography couldn’t keep me “indoors”, though. Soon, I began to devote my career to outdoor- and action-photography.
Ever since, I have been publishing my work internationally in lifestyle, travel and outdoor magazines, including National Geographic Adventure, Outsides, GEO as well as in numerous catalogue productions and advertisements of the automobile, bike, outdoor and travel industry.

…kayaking between icebergs in the fjords of eastern Greenland or walking on hot soles towards the volcanoes of Sicily, Ethiopia and the South Sea or climbing up Mount Fuji in Japan…
Utilizing stunning imagery and intriguing scripts on exciting travel projects, I aim to fuel the readers’ passion for being outdoors and to bring magnificent landscapes and foreign cultures into their homes.
Classic travel reportages in an anthropologic or cultural context, e.g. in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu or Ethiopia represent a further focus of my work.
Apart from outdoor and travel content, I have also realized automobile, lifestyle and camper van topics for both media, such as GQ, STERN, SPIEGEL and global companies like BMW.
My photography and texts have been published worldwide in online and print magazines, daily newspapers, books and in advertisement productions.
I am a partner at SRT-Journalists, the largest German association of travel-journalists, member of BJV (Bavarian Association of Journalists) and Nikon-PRO-Photographer.
